TMJ Relief

When the TMJ (stands for Temporomandibular joint) muscles are unbalanced, it can misalign the jaw and create the following symptoms: Headaches, painful scalp, jaw clicking or popping, difficulty swallowing, frequent coughing or throat clearing, decreased hearing or buzzing/ringing in the ears, pain behind the eyes, sensitivity to sunlight, mouth and/or teeth discomfort, or jaw deviation. Massage work for TMJ has proven to be very effective in about 80% of cases. If you are experiencing any of the above symptoms, then this may be the treatment for you! TMJ work, addresses trigger points in the muscles that contribute to the jaw and temporal lobe, and may also include neck and shoulder work, depending on the severity.

During each session, a heat pack made of organic flax and lavender flowers is applied to the lower back or abdomen to reduce cramps. A special blend of essential oils and infused carrier oils are used for this treatment, to bring balance to hormones and to deeply relax you during this time.

Each session will focus on stress relief via neck, shoulders, and deep lower back, helping to alleviate the symptoms of the monthly cycle, and each session ends with a few minutes of rest and a cup of raspberry tea leaf blend to help reduce cramping and tone the uterus.

Kinesio-taping (Muscle Tape)

A great tool by itself, or for enhancing the effects of massage. Taping lifts the skin away from underlying structures, allowing for greater movement of the tissues and increased circulation. Muscle taping can reduce pain, swelling, bruising, and fatigue, as well as increase athletic performance. Muscle taping also stimulates the nerve cells in the skin which can enhance your brain’s awareness of your body to help change poor movement patterns.
